TM 1517DNH 7 (Eurydice)

DNH 7 is an almost completely preserved skull with associated mandible of Paranthropus robustus. It was discovered in 1994 in the province of Gauteng, South Africa. In close proximity to this fossil, a well preserved lower jaw (was DNH 8) was discovered as well. The age of both individuals was estimated to be 1.5 to 2 million years. DNH 7 is sometimes nicknamed "Eurydice" and DNH 8 is " Orpheus ". DNH stands for Drimolen Hominid, and custody of the fossils is the School of Anatomical Sciences of Witwatersrand University .
